Job Details
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to fill the role of a Payroll and HR Manager in our rapidly growing engineering and construction company.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the entire payroll function of the organization, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions.
- Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
- Perform various administrative tasks such as maintaining employee records, timesheet tracking, and managing HR-related inquiries or requests.
- Develop, implement, and manage the HR department's budget.
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital.
- Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization.
- Nurture a positive working environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role in payroll and HR, preferably within the construction industry.
- Proven experience with timesheet management and implementation of payroll systems.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to salaries, wages, taxes, benefits, and other payroll-related matters.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with payroll software.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
