About the role
We are seeking an experienced Payroll and Benefits Administration Manager to lead payroll processing, employee benefits, and retirement plan administration. This role requires strong expertise in ADP Workforce Now, public-company payroll, equity compensation, and a proven ability to maintain accuracy, strong internal controls, and efficient payroll and benefits operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end payroll administration in ADP Workforce Now, including public-company requirements such as RSUs, equity compensation, and related tax reporting.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA, HSA, and leave-related benefits.
- Lead employee benefits and the Company’s 401(k) plan, including compliance testing, audits, vendor coordination, and employee communications.
- Ensure compliance with applicable payroll, tax, benefits, and employment regulations, and maintain strong internal controls, documentation, and SOX readiness in partnership with Finance, HR, Legal, and external auditors.
- Serve as primary point of contact for payroll, benefits, and retirement vendors and provide responsive support to employees.
- Identify and implement process and system improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of progressive payroll and benefits administration experience, preferably within a public-company environment.
- Demonstrated expertise with ADP Workforce Now, including administration of RSU and equity compensation payroll.
- Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, wage and hour laws, employee benefits compliance, and 401(k) administration.
- Proven ability to maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and effective internal controls in a SOX-regulated environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Skills
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and/or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) (preferred).
- Experience with RSUs, stock-based compensation, and public-company reporting requirements.
Pay
Expected Salary Range (New York): $130,000–$140,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and scope of responsibilities.
