About the role

The Payroll Analyst is responsible for the timely and efficient reconciliation of payroll transactions and accounts for several key payroll functions to ensure the accuracy of the general ledger, payroll funding and reporting for most of RBC’s operations in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile all payroll G/L accounts and review and analyze outstanding balances as well as prepare and upload G/L batch entries to PeopleSoft
  • Investigate and explain variances, determine action plan to remediate discrepancies, escalates and reports any issues to supervisor when necessary
  • Create / maintain up-to-date documentation of all processes and control procedures
  • Ensure compliance with internal control requirements, general ledger account reconciliation processes and regulatory reporting and serve as main contact for all payroll G/L account inquiries from team members and business partners
  • Track all payroll adjustments (ACH payments, ACH returns, wires, and SAP check voids, etc.) and provide reports to Finance Department to assist them with their payroll bank reconciliation
  • Handle or distribute Wells Fargo ACH Returns, Notifications of change, positive pay exceptions, and fraud filter

Requirements

  • Must-have Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with 2+ years payroll/accounting experience
  • Very strong communication skills (both oral and written), strong attention to detail, and well organized
  • Ability to set priorities and work effectively in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Enthusiastically embraces change and a self-motivator with a high degree of self-sufficiency
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and handle issues with discretion and good judgment

Qualifications

  • Nice-to-have Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
  • Accounting designation
  • Experience with PeopleSoft and SAP

Benefits

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $55,000 - $85,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.

Pay

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $55,000 - $85,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.
