KBW Financial has partnered with a large, global organization to fill a Payroll Analyst role in the Greater Boston area. This is a hands-on position for a payroll professional with deep Workday Payroll experience in a complex, multi-state environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the processing of semi-monthly, in-house payroll for approximately 2,000 salaried and hourly employees across multiple states.
- Calculate and process retroactive payments, overpayments, overtime, salary adjustments, and benefit-related changes.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for employees and vendors, providing timely support on payroll-related questions and issues.
- Partner with Treasury to forecast payroll cash requirements and ensure accurate, timely funding to employees and payroll vendors.
- Collaborate with Global Payroll, Global Mobility, and Tax on expatriate payroll and employees transitioning on or off international assignments.
- Lead the reconciliation of U.S. W-2s and year-end payroll reporting.
- Partner with Accounting on payroll journal entries, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain payroll configurations within Workday, including taxes, earnings, deductions, and general ledger mapping.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Research payroll discrepancies, identify root causes, recommend solutions, and partner with management through resolution.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on Workday Payroll processing experience required, ideally within a complex, multi-state or multi-jurisdictional environment.
- Experience processing payroll for a large employee population strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, controls, reconciliations, and year-end reporting.
- Experience with Workday Payroll required; additional exposure to ADP and international payroll vendors is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Polished communication skills and a strong customer-service orientation, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional and global teams.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
Pay
$45-55/hr depending on experience
