Brief Description

Sunbelt Solomon is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to manage full-cycle payroll processing for employees across the United States and Canada utilizing UKG Ready. This is an onsite role based in Solomon, Kansas, requiring regular in-office attendance during standard business hours. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payrolls for U.S. and Canadian employees.
  • Accurately calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and payroll taxes.
  • Conduct payroll audits, reconciliations, and variance analyses to maintain payroll accuracy and integrity.
  • Administer payroll tax requirements, year-end processing, and reporting, including preparation of W-2, T4, and T4A forms.
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize payroll settings, earning codes, deduction codes, tax setups, and workflows within UKG Ready.
  • Manage payroll-related system integrations and troubleshoot payroll processing issues.
  • Process garnishments, tax levies, child support orders, and other involuntary deductions.
  • Administer employee benefit deductions, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), RRSP, and other benefit programs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees and managers.
  • Partner closely with HR, Finance, Benefits, and external vendors to ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
  • Maintain compliance with all U.S. federal, state, local, and Canadian payroll regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, human resources, business administration, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years of payroll administration experience.
  • Hands-on experience with UKG Ready payroll processing and administration.
  • Experience processing payroll in both the United States and Canada.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll taxes, including federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations, including CPP/QPP, EI, and provincial requirements.
  • Experience with payroll audits, reconciliations, and year-end processing.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and customer service abilities.
