Payroll Administrator
Responsibilities
- Process complete payroll cycles for employees across multiple states, ensuring pay is delivered accurately and on schedule.
- Review timekeeping, earnings, deductions, and tax data to identify and resolve discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
- Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation in alignment with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Administer payroll activities, balancing efficiency with a high level of accuracy.
- Use ADP Workforce Now to manage payroll transactions, reporting, and employee data updates.
- Respond to payroll-related questions from employees and internal stakeholders with clear, timely communication.
- Partner with HR, finance, and other teams to support employee changes, audits, and payroll reconciliations.
- Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and apply updates as needed to payroll processing.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle payroll from data review through final processing and reporting.
- Hands-on knowledge of multi-state payroll practices, including tax withholding and jurisdictional requirements.
- Proficiency using ADP Workforce Now in a payroll administration capacity.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, wage regulations, and standard payroll controls.
- High level of accuracy, discretion, and organizational skill when handling confidential employee information.
- Ability to investigate payroll issues, reconcile data, and communicate solutions effectively.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in payroll administration is required, preferably in a multi-state environment. Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
Skills
Strong knowledge of payroll systems, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information professionally are essential.
