Job Summary
The Payroll Administrator supports the accurate, timely processing of employee compensation and maintains payroll system integrity. This role handles day-to-day payroll preparation, verifies timekeeping data, processes deductions, and ensures strict compliance with tax regulations. The Administrator serves as a key point of contact for employee inquiries and assists the Payroll Manager with data analysis and reporting.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Execute regular, bonus, and correction payroll cycles accurately within UKG on schedule.
- Audit and verify employee hours worked within the UKG timekeeping system before processing.
- Resolve employee inquiries regarding UKG timekeeping, paychecks, and payroll policies efficiently.
- Generate daily, quarterly, and annual payroll reports, including annualized and total summaries.
- Reconcile and balance payroll registers on a per-payroll, quarterly, and year-end basis.
- Organize and maintain all digital payroll documentation and tax correspondence.
- Assist in preparing and submitting federal, state, and local tax deposits and returns.
- Register and maintain state-specific payroll tax and unemployment accounts for remote workers.
- Provide daily activity and productivity reports to the Payroll Manager to track goal achievement.
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency with UKG payroll and timekeeping platforms.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle confidential data discreetly.
- Solid analytical skills to interpret payroll data and identify system variances.
- Working knowledge of wage and hour laws, payroll taxes, and state regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Accounting or Business preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll processing, lending, or a related administrative field.
- Minimum of one year of direct hands-on experience utilizing UKG software is required.
