About the role
Under direction of the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Administrator reviews timecards, handles tax withholdings, sets up direct deposit, and resolves payroll discrepancies in a timely manner. This role acts as a resource for employees regarding payroll issues and inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Audit payroll on a biweekly basis using Excel.
- Collaborate and interface with Human Resource counterparts.
- Identify and participate in process improvement projects, including assisting with various system implementation and upgrades.
- Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions, issuing payments via Lawson manual checks.
- Maintain updated documentation for all payroll-related processing.
- Maintain complete and accurate employee files.
- Monitor email inquiries into the Payroll inbox and respond to employees.
- Handle special projects and opportunities as assigned.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Payroll information maintenance: set up direct deposit, set up deductions, and enter tax changes.
- Process garnishments, workers compensation claims, and leave of absence (LOA) payments (integrate sick and vacation/PTO).
- Work with other payroll administrators to provide full payroll coverage for 5,200+ employees.
Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities—as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications—is qualifying.
- Required Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred Education: A.A. Degree or Bachelor’s degree.
- Required Experience: Two or more years of payroll processing experience in an integrated or interface environment.
