About the role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join their team in SE Houston. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in administration, data entry, accounting, or payroll who is looking to grow their career. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, comfortable working with confidential information, and have strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Assist with processing payroll accurately and timely
- Enter and maintain employee payroll and timekeeping information
- Review employee hours, deductions, and other payroll data for accuracy
- Assist with new hire setup, employee changes, and terminations
- Research and resolve discrepancies in payroll and employee records
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee files and payroll documentation
- Assist with payroll reports and data entry
- Respond to employee questions regarding payroll and timekeeping
- Assist with payroll reconciliations and other accounting-related tasks
- Support the payroll team with administrative duties and special projects
- Ensure payroll information is entered accurately and in a timely manner
- Perform other payroll and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 1+ year of administrative, data entry, accounting, or payroll experience
- Payroll experience is a plus but not required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working with numbers and large amounts of data
- Strong data entry and computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn payroll processes and systems
