About the role

This position plays a key role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, every time. It involves executing core payroll processes, maintaining data integrity, and supporting compliance across all payroll activities.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll on a regular cadence, ensuring accurate and timely submission of employee data including hours worked, deductions, bonuses, and payments
  • Review and validate timekeeping data prior to payroll processing to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain payroll records and systems in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations
  • Reconcile payroll data, identify discrepancies, and help resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, compensation, and deductions
  • Prepare payroll reports and assist with year-end processes, including W-2s
  • Ensure payroll activities align with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Partner with the Finance team on payroll transaction recording and account reconciliations
  • Cook up documentation and follow up items related to payroll audits
  • Administer payroll-related deductions such as benefits, retirement contributions, and garnishments
  • Process payroll changes related to new hires, terminations, and employee updates
  • Contribute to the upkeep and ongoing improvement of payroll systems and processes
  • Support additional responsibilities across Payroll, HR, and Finance as needed

Requirements

Requires a high level of attention to detail, organization, and accountability in handling sensitive information.

Qualifications

  • 2 - 4 years of experience processing payroll in a multi-state environment
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles related to payroll
  • Experience working within UKG payroll systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or equivalent experience

Skills

  • High attention to detail with the ability to process payroll accurately and consistently
  • Working knowledge of payroll processes including deductions, taxes, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in payroll data
  • Organized approach to managing multiple deadlines and competing priorities
  • Discretion when handling sensitive and confidential employee information
  • Effective communication skills when responding to employee questions and coordinating across teams
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to escalate issues when appropriate
