Role Overview
The Fraud Analyst is responsible for detecting, investigating, and preventing fraud across various payment services. This position involves monitoring transactions and analyzing data to identify patterns of fraud. The role works with management to escalate incidents and provides quarterly statistical metrics based on system performance and results.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct critical suspect reviews for wire payments, ensuring timely release or cancellation.
- Perform immediate review and escalation of potential fraud using dedicated software.
- Create and maintain system filters and policies for known fraud and internal controls.
- Review and decide on negotiable items to pay or return.
- Process claims for EFT services, including ACH, Debit Cards, and Zelle.
- Conduct daily review of client reports to prevent and identify suspected fraud.
- Perform debit card maintenance, including travel exemptions, reissues, and managing inventory.
- Reconcile general ledgers associated with losses and debit cards.
- Provide support for internal and external customers.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 5+ years of financial institution operations experience with advanced experience in fraud and anomaly detection.
- Technical Skills: Experience with NICE Actimize Xceed and Fiserv Premier is required. Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations affecting the financial services industry, including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, and Anti-Money Laundering programs.
Work Environment
This position involves walking, talking, hearing, and using hands to operate objects or controls, and requires sitting for long periods. Vision is required to read documents and computer screens. An individual may be required to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.
