Payment Poster

We are a multispecialty ASC operating Monday – Friday. Office hours are 6:00a until 4:00p. Shift hours are 7:30a – 4:00p with a 30-minute lunch break.

About the role

As a Payment Poster, you will be an important part of the business office team. You will be responsible for posting, reconciling, adjusting, refunding, and balancing of cash and daily payments. Additionally, you will work aged claims as a Collection Specialist and be cross-trained to assist in other areas of the business office including Registration, Medical Records, Scheduling, and Insurance Verification.

Responsibilities

• Post all payments and adjustments daily
• Contact payers and initiate requests for payment and refunds for overpayment
• Enter refunds in the AdvantX system in a timely manner
• Prepare refund request forms when applicable and submit to BOM/AP
• Perform weekly allocations of deposits to ensure accurate reporting of credit balances
• Check websites or call insurances for claim status
• Write up reconsiderations and appeals

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of payment posting experience
• Analytical skills to research and solve reimbursement discrepancies based on contracts
• BLS certification (training provided within 30 days of hire if not already certified)
