Payment Poster

Job Duties

• Log and prepare payment batches from the bank for posters.
• Balance Insurance and Patient payments from Imagine to Bank.
• Post electronic payments in the billing system.
• Post credit card payments from insurance companies and patients.
• The payment poster is responsible for balancing payment batches from the bank to Imagine on a spreadsheet.
• Reconciles payments and shortages for all batches.
• Prepares payment batches for other payment posters.
• Maintains professional knowledge regarding medical billing and coding procedures, insurance carriers, federal programs, etc.
• Post returned checks.

Position Requirements

• High School or Equivalent
• Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in billing
• Ability to read Insurance EOBs

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge in Microsoft Excel
• Must be comfortable interacting with employees, medical staff, leadership and medical providers
• Must demonstrate strong analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft office products
• Must have strong critical thinking skills
• Maintains effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or the work environment
• Able to work independently without close supervision
• Able to exercise judgement and make decisions
