Paving Inspector
About the role

From the 100-mile Maine Turnpike corridor to every major interstate highway and many state routes in northern New England our local construction management division and inspection team has overseen and inspected thousands of highway paving miles, over the past twenty-five years.
Responsibilities
- Interfacing with contractors and attending meetings.
- Mentoring or supervising other inspectors, on behalf of resident engineer, or project manager.
- Completing daily reports, measuring and calculating unit price quantities.
- Coordinating independent material sampling and testing.
- Monitoring maintenance of traffic.
- Taking and compiling photographs, for tracking of daily progress.
- Exercising responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma
- 7 years applicable experience
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, design plans and specifications
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Requirements
- Average proficiency with MS WORD Suite
- NETTCP HMA certifications, or ability to attain within 3 months of hiring
- Hands-on experience with construction management software such as Site or Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, IPD or similar systems
- Knowledge of Bluebeam
Skills
