About the role

Responsibilities

  • Interface with contractors and attend meetings.
  • Mentor or supervise other inspectors, on behalf of resident engineer, or project manager.
  • Complete daily reports, measure and calculate unit price quantities.
  • Coordinate independent material sampling and testing.
  • Monitor maintenance of traffic.
  • Take and compile photographs, for tracking of daily progress.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma with 9 years of applicable experience.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, design plans and specifications.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Associate of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field.
  • NETTCP HMA certifications, or ability to attain within 3 months of hiring.
  • Average proficiency with MS WORD Suite.
  • Hands-on experience with construction management software such as Site or Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, IPD or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills.
