Patient Transporter - PT. Varies/Rotating

Cape Girardeau, Missouri – Non-Clinical Support, Support Services – Regular Part-time

About the role

Transports patients and equipment to and from various departments within Mercy Hospital Southeast. Performs various patient-related activities as assigned. Uses Epic software to track patient locations and equipment movement throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients in a safe manner, utilizing proper body mechanics at all times
• Maintain PAR levels for equipment in various locations throughout the Medical Center
• Collaborate effectively with co-workers within the Patient Transportation Department and other departments
• Use Epic software to track each patient's location as they travel to and from designated areas
• Use Epic software to track equipment movement throughout the facility

Requirements

• Certification: BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED)
• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Prolonged standing and walking during each shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

Qualifications

• Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: Two years of customer service experience
