PATIENT TRANSPORTER (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

Job Summary

Patient Transporter – Facilitating internal hospital patient moves. Responsible for the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment and patient‑related items to their destinations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Properly and safely transports patients, securing IVs, drainage tubes, etc., and ensures patient safety.
• Uses wheelchairs and other approved rolling stock in accordance with patient‑transport protocols.
• Demonstrates competency in transporting patients of all age groups.
• Ensures the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients to their destination using the proper requested equipment.
• Communicates effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians, reception, and dispatch.
• Attends to patient comfort by offering blankets, checking modesty, and engaging in appropriate conversation.
• Never transports patients in severe pain and alerts nursing staff immediately to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
• Maintains equipment and reports any equipment needing repairs.
• Complies with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state and JCAHO requirements.
• Adheres to facility confidentiality and patient‑rights policies as outlined in HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Prior customer service and healthcare experience required.

Pay

$15.75 per hour to $16.18 per hour.

Schedule

Full‑time and part‑time schedules. Hours and days may vary; further details will be provided during the interview.
