About the role
As a Patient Transporter at TriCities Hospital, you will safely transport patients to assigned areas while maintaining patient privacy, dignity, and respect in accordance with HIPAA regulations. You will perform all transport tasks safely and in compliance with Infection Control policies and procedures, using proper tools, body mechanics, and lifting techniques. The role ensures regulatory compliance, including adherence to JCAHO regulations related to transportation.
You will pursue opportunities for improvement, demonstrate flexibility in assignments, and adapt to changing priorities as determined by Department Leadership, Nursing Supervisors, and Bed Control. Collaboration with Patient Transport and Environmental Services teams is essential to resolve conflicts proactively and ensure efficient department operations.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients to assigned areas while maintaining privacy and dignity.
- Comply with HIPAA regulations and Infection Control policies during all transport tasks.
- Use proper tools, body mechanics, and lifting techniques to ensure safety.
- Adhere to JCAHO regulations and other compliance standards applicable to transportation.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in assignments based on hospital needs.
- Work collaboratively with Patient Transport and Environmental Services teams to resolve conflicts and improve efficiency.
- Follow directives from Department Leadership, Nursing Supervisors, and Bed Control.
Requirements
- Previous experience in Environmental Services is required.
- College degree is preferred.
- Previous patient transport experience is preferred.
