Patient Services Specialist for Foregut Surgery in NE Portland
The Oregon Clinic is seeking a full-time Patient Services Specialist (Hybrid/Remote) to join our collaborative team in the Foregut Surgery Clinic located in Northeast Portland. About the role
In this phone-based role, you will provide patients and stakeholders with a consistent, efficient, and easy experience, ensuring the highest value care tailored to patient needs. This position offers hybrid/remote work opportunities once training is completed and expectations are met, with occasional required onsite work. Must live in Portland or SW Washington.
Responsibilities
- Schedule appointments for new and established patients in an efficient and timely manner.
- Obtain and complete insurance information.
- Answer phones on a multi-line system.
- Manage inbound referrals.
- Provide coverage for medical records and front desk teams.
- Update registration and EMR records as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year of work experience, preferably in a medical office or clinical setting.
- Specialty care GI/Foregut Surgery experience is a strong plus.
- Prior experience in complex healthcare scheduling is preferred.
- Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is preferred; Epic experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with insurance and referral processes.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
- Excellent attendance and work ethic.
- Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
- Commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.
Pay
Hiring range, based on experience and credentials:
- Level I: $19.59 - $26.51 per hour.
- Level II: $21.55 - $29.16 per hour.
- Level III: $23.71 - $32.07 per hour.
Schedule
Typical hours are Monday-Friday (8:30 am - 5:00 pm). This role is located at the Providence Cancer Center, with hybrid/remote work available after training completion.
