Patient Services Representative and Rehabilitation Technician

About the role

The Patient Services Representative/Rehabilitation Technician is the first point of contact for patients. Key responsibilities include greeting patients, answering phone calls, scheduling, assisting with registration, communicating benefits, collecting payments, and running reports.

Responsibilities

• Tracking outbound/inbound department documentation and communicating patient information
• Performing and completing end of month cleaning, daily temperature logs, and maintaining clinic inventory
• Supporting patient care and therapeutic activities under the direction of therapists in a team environment
• Cleaning and preparing treatment areas and equipment as per department protocols
• Assisting in emergency situations by floating to other Tidelands Health locations
• Completing other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma with college or specialized training
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Experience with insurance payer regulations preferred
• Prior experience with medical terminology and electronic medical records preferred
• Experience with interpreting and following detailed policies and workflows
• Experience with obtaining authorizations and scheduling appointments, rehabilitation preferred

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association required within 30 days of hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified - American Heart Association required

• Medical terminology knowledge required
• Customer service experience
• Time management skills to multi-task
• Ability to develop rapport with various customer bases including physicians, coworkers, and ancillary personnel
• Ability to independently interpret and adapt guidelines and make judgment decisions on specific problems
