About the role
California Pacific Orthopedics is hiring Patient Services Representatives for its San Francisco team. This position offers the chance to work in a supportive, team-oriented culture with leadership that values work-life balance and flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Greet and register patients
- Verify insurance and schedule appointments
- Triage patient questions, concerns, and issues
- Update patient demographics, insurance information, and contact information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Scan, upload, and maintain patient documents within the EHR
- Collect copayments, outstanding balances, and issue receipts
- Coordinate appointment changes, cancellations, and rescheduling requests
- Assist with MRI screening by contacting patients prior to their appointment
- Document patient communications accurately within the EHR and route messages to clinical staff and providers
- Answer incoming calls and return patient calls
- Meet established call center productivity, quality, and performance goals
- Respond to patients, providers, and staff in a professional, courteous, and service-oriented manner
- Collaborate effectively with providers, medical assistants, and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow and resolution of patient concerns
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years of customer service experience in a medical office, insurance, or call center
- Experience with scheduling appointments
- Must have tech skills with using one or more of the applications: MS Office, Office 365, Google Suite or Mac
- Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
- Problemsolving and organizational skills
- Strong verbal/written communication and listening skills; including excellent telephone communication
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks
- Ability to use general office equipment
