About the role

California Pacific Orthopedics is hiring Patient Services Representatives for its San Francisco team. This position offers the chance to work in a supportive, team-oriented culture with leadership that values work-life balance and flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and register patients
  • Verify insurance and schedule appointments
  • Triage patient questions, concerns, and issues
  • Update patient demographics, insurance information, and contact information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Scan, upload, and maintain patient documents within the EHR
  • Collect copayments, outstanding balances, and issue receipts
  • Coordinate appointment changes, cancellations, and rescheduling requests
  • Assist with MRI screening by contacting patients prior to their appointment
  • Document patient communications accurately within the EHR and route messages to clinical staff and providers
  • Answer incoming calls and return patient calls
  • Meet established call center productivity, quality, and performance goals
  • Respond to patients, providers, and staff in a professional, courteous, and service-oriented manner
  • Collaborate effectively with providers, medical assistants, and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow and resolution of patient concerns

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience in a medical office, insurance, or call center
  • Experience with scheduling appointments
  • Must have tech skills with using one or more of the applications: MS Office, Office 365, Google Suite or Mac
  • Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
  • Problemsolving and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal/written communication and listening skills; including excellent telephone communication
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks
  • Ability to use general office equipment
