Our Neurosurgery Clinic wants to add a new Patient Services Rep to their great team. Our ideal candidate will be friendly, reliable, and adaptable to an evolving practice. Previous experience with insurance referrals and other front desk work is ideal. 8a-4:30p Monday - Friday Overview Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Patient Services Representative acts as the initial point of contact for front office activity and helps directs the patient flow process at the physician office. This position performs patient check-ins and appointment scheduling. This position also maintains patient financial records and may serve as a switchboard operator as needed. Responsibilities Handles telephone calls from patients and staff; forwards calls requiring triage.Performs receptionist duties with close attention to detail and professionalism.Verifies health insurance payment information and educates patients on the applicable regulations; collects payments and records data.Performs data entry of service charges, to include the assignment of diagnostic codes and the entering of all physician and clinic related charges.Coordinates information with Central Billing Office to ensure all charges are captured and properly collected.
