Job Summary
As a Bench Patient Services Manager, you will provide leadership and operational support for Patient Services teams across acute care hospital accounts in the Detroit metro area. This role floats between locations based on business needs, including vacancies, new account openings, PTO coverage, performance stabilization, or special initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish patient foodservice goals and support the implementation of patient meal service processes based on medical direction and patient population needs
- Assist with hiring, directing, coaching, training, and developing patient services team members
- Ensure compliance with physician‑ordered diets, including special and modified diets, while accommodating patient food preferences within diet order limitations
- Support patient satisfaction initiatives and ensure patient services staff contribute to achieving established satisfaction goals
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements, including federal, state, and accrediting agencies
- Adhere to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient rights policies
- Participate in and/or lead patient satisfaction initiatives, departmental meetings, and facility‑wide Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of foodservice management experience in an acute care hospital or long‑term care/senior living setting
- Associate degree with one (1) year of related foodservice experience or Bachelor’s degree in foodservice technology, foodservice management, nutrition, or a related field
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM), Registered Diet Technician (DTR), or Registered Dietitian (RD) preferred
- ServSafe® Certification desirable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and experience using electronic medical records (EMR) and diet office systems
