Entry-level position on the Patient Services Team.

Hourly pay range: $20.42–$21.48

Responsibilities

  • Understand and apply patient payer terminology, eligibility, and accepted insurances (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, clinic-specific programs)
  • Process payments and follow proper cash handling procedures
  • Manage clinic scheduling, including active-schedule management
  • Provide excellent customer service with cultural sensitivity and confidentiality
  • Follow telephone protocol for patients and employees
  • Initiate, update, and maintain electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Collect patient-related data for process and quality improvement
  • Enroll and engage patients with the Patient Portal
  • Respond to patient questions by following policies and procedures
  • Escalate security, safety concerns, and monitor lobby cleanliness to management
  • De-escalate volatile, emotional, or behavioral patient issues
  • Report signs of abuse or neglect of patients/staff to a clinic manager immediately
  • Complete patient registration in EMR and update changes in patient status
  • Inform patients of current wait times when necessary
  • Support the Clinical team with administrative tasks and planned care initiatives
  • Maintain visitor check-in process
  • Handle “normal lab” phone calls to patients
  • Assist patients in filling out registration forms
  • Perform daily outreach efforts as directed
  • Manage outgoing correspondence via mail, email, and fax
  • Confirm appointments via phone calls to patients
  • Participate in organization, site workgroups, or committees as requested
  • Understand financial enrollment processes and refer when appropriate
  • Receive dropped-off labs and handle basic specimen storage
  • Read data, correct errors, and report inefficiencies
  • Attend required internal meetings, trainings, and events
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of customer service experience
  • Oral and written fluency in English and oral fluency in Spanish
  • Flexible, adaptable, and willing to assist where needed
  • Ability to understand and apply updates to program regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Organized, able to multi-task, and work in a busy clinic setting
  • Ability to explain complex concepts (e.g., Medicaid/CHP+ Enrollment Process, program benefits, policies) clearly
  • Sensitivity to low-income and ethnic minority communities
  • Strong math skills, self-motivated, and results-driven
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and function as a team member
  • Strong initiative and passion for advocating and providing healthcare to underserved populations
  • Must be a Colorado resident at time of hire and throughout employment

Valid proof of required vaccinations is mandatory prior to employment, subject to applicable laws.
