Patient Services Coordinator - Surgical Oncology
About the role
The Patient Services Coordinator coordinates and schedules patient appointments and impacts patient care services by ensuring timely and accurate scheduling of provider appointments, diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments. This role is essential to maintaining smooth patient flow and supporting the multidisciplinary care team.
P10 Surgical/Oncology is a specialized inpatient unit providing care for surgical oncology patients, including those undergoing complex cancer-related procedures. Nurses on this unit deliver pre- and post-operative care, manage pain and complications, and provide education and emotional support to patients and families.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule patient appointments
- Schedule provider appointments, diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments
- Prepare and maintain daily appointment templates and/or patient records in One Connect
- Communicate all pertinent information to families, physicians, team members, and other patient care areas
- Prepare patient materials and documentation according to established procedures
- Collect co-payments and validate patient insurance and demographics
- Update payment and patient information; reconcile One Connect cash drawer daily
- Perform validation of the Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire (MSPQ)
- Ensure coordination of benefits and assignment of Hospital Account Record (HAR)
- Follow standard operating procedures for institution and center
- Protect the security and confidentiality of patient information at all times
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years of relevant work experience (may substitute additional education for required experience on a one-to-one basis)
- Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources
Qualifications
Preferred: Three years of customer service experience in a healthcare setting.

Pay
Hourly breakdown of salary range based on a 36-hour work week: Minimum $19.23/hour | Midpoint $24.03/hour | Maximum $28.85/hour
Minimum Salary: $40,000
Midpoint Salary: $50,000
Maximum Salary: $60,000
Schedule
Available to work 40 hours per week, a combination of two 12-hour and two 8-hour shifts, Monday-Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays.
Day/Evening shift: (7:00AM - 7:00PM, 7:00AM - 3:00PM, 3:00PM - 11:00PM)
