Patient Services Associate II - OBGYN - New Jersey (Full-time)

OBGYN is a multi-location department with staff rotated among sites in New Jersey: Sewell, West Deptford, Stratford, and Cherry Hill. One evening shift per week is required.

About the Role

The Patient Services Associate (PSA) II enhances the patient and customer experience by courteously and professionally processing arrival and departure activities. Responsibilities include obtaining pre-certifications and pre-authorizations for procedures, verifying insurance, referrals, and patient demographic information. The PSA II supports the delivery of the Jefferson Experience by ensuring prompt and courteous treatment of all patients and visitors while maintaining an efficient flow to examination rooms.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Processes check-in and/or check-out, point-of-service activities, and/or scheduling of patient appointments via EPIC.
• Obtains pre-certifications and/or pre-authorizations for procedures.
• Maintains efficient flow of practice and escalates patient and/or provider concerns as appropriate.
• Greets and interacts with patients/visitors in a professional manner, on the phone or in person.
• Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements; ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
• Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to communicate courteously with patients and/or visitors.
• Willingness to provide and support a positive Jefferson Experience for all patients and visitors.
• Ability to process and interpret data.
• Ability to multi-task while managing a time-sensitive workload.

Pay

The actual hiring rate will be determined based on candidate experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is not eligible for an annual incentive. Positions posted as annual salaries reflect an estimated amount for a 1.0 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) (i.e., 40-hour equivalent); positions for less than 1.0 FTE will be prorated.
