Patient Service Specialist - Vision
Location: Mt. Healthy Family Practice
Founded in 1967, The HealthCare Connection (THCC) is Ohio’s first Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). THCC provides quality, accessible primary health care to residents of northern Hamilton County and surrounding areas, operating two primary‑care locations and six school‑based health centers serving over 20,000 patients. Services include Primary Care, Infectious Disease, Substance Use, Integrated Behavioral Health, Dental Services, Women’s Health, and Pharmacy.
About the role
As a Vision Patient Services Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring a positive experience for every patient who walks through our doors. As the welcoming face of our Mt. Healthy Vision Center, you’ll support patients throughout the front‑desk registration process. We seek a customer‑focused individual who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is committed to health equity for all.
Responsibilities
- Greet and register patients upon arrival
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
- Collect payments and co‑pays for services
- Schedule, confirm, cancel, and reschedule appointments
- Assist patients with forms and paperwork
- Work with the Finance department regarding patient balances
- Support administrative and reporting tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in a clinical or medical office setting (front desk, registration, or scheduling roles preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer systems
- Familiarity with EHR systems; NextGen experience is a plus
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment with frequent interruptions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
