Patient Service Specialist - Medical Front Office

Hours: vary Monday–Friday between 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (PRN/as needed). Float candidate will be required to travel to multiple outpatient clinics in the following areas: Liberty Hill, Steiner, North Austin, and Pflugerville.

About the role

Seeking an organized, adaptable individual who works well both independently and with others. The Patient Service Specialist will provide outstanding customer service, process referrals, schedule patients, complete intake, perform data entry, verify insurance, obtain authorizations, review benefits with patients, collect copays, manage arrivals and scheduling, generate billing reports, close daily reports, and handle other tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and answer phones
• Perform patient intake and data entry
• Verify insurance and obtain pre-authorizations
• Schedule patient appointments
• Operate the front office of outpatient centers
• Support therapists and therapy assistants
• Handle daily cash balancing and weekly banking deposits

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

• Customer service experience
• Knowledge of insurance verification
• Experience in healthcare, medical, or dental office administration

Pay

PRN rate: $21.00 per hour
