Patient Service Specialist

Entry‑level Patient Service Specialist position at Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation (Day Neuro Hub) in Dallas, TX. The role supports patients and staff by providing outstanding customer service and handling a variety of front‑office duties in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Check‑in and check‑out patients, verify insurance, schedule appointments, generate reports, fax, scan, and perform other office duties.
• Coordinate patient appointments with the Center manager to minimize cancellations and support treatment adherence.
• Register patient information, ensure all forms are complete with signatures, and accurately document data in the electronic medical record.
• Verify patient insurance, obtain required authorizations before visits, and explain benefits, financial responsibilities, billing, and outpatient policies.
• Collect patient responsibility amounts at each visit.
• Scan and maintain medical documents.
• Reconcile and post charges daily and generate reports to ensure clean claim processing.
• Respond to information requests from patients, other departments, and physicians.
• Maintain the office, order supplies, and manage mail.
• Adjust schedule as needed to meet center needs.
• Attend all mandatory meetings and in‑service education programs.
• Travel to non‑home location centers or other sites for coverage when necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance verification preferred.
• Experience in healthcare, medical, or dental office administration preferred.

Pay

Schedule

Hours vary between Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. Full‑time position.
