About the role
This is an entry-level, full-time position with hours varying between Monday and Friday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Responsibilities
- Process referrals, schedule patients, and complete the intake process and data entry.
- Handle insurance verification, authorizations, and review of benefits with patients.
- Collect copays and patient responsibility at each visit.
- Arrive and schedule patients, generate billing reports, and close reports.
- Coordinate patient appointments to minimize cancellations and support treatment adherence.
- Register patient information, ensuring all forms are complete with signatures and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Explain benefits, financial responsibilities, billing, and outpatient policies to patients.
- Scan and maintain medical documents.
- Reconcile and post charges daily and perform other reporting to ensure clean claim processing.
- Respond to all requests for information from patients, other departments, and physicians.
- Maintain office, order supplies, and manage mail.
- Adjust schedule to meet center needs, including traveling to non-home location centers or other sites for coverage when necessary.
- Attend all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and flexible.
- Able to work well with others or independently.
- Provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to adjust schedule as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Customer service experience.
- Knowledge of insurance verification.
- Healthcare, medical, or dental office administration experience.
Pay
Starting salary: $19 - $25 per hour based on experience. Compensation depends upon candidate’s years of experience and internal equity.
