Patient Service Specialist - Medical Front Office

About the role

This is an entry-level Patient Service Specialist position, requiring someone who is organized, adaptable, and able to work well with others or independently. The role involves working varying hours, Monday to Thursday, 10am-7pm, for 32 hours a week.

The starting salary is $18-$25 per hour, depending on experience. Travel to other locations may be required, and the candidate should be able to provide outstanding customer service and work efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and answer phones
• Complete patient intake and data entry
• Verify insurance and obtain pre-authorizations
• Schedule patient appointments
• Operate the front office of outpatient centers
• Support therapists and therapy assistants
• Daily cash balancing and weekly banking deposits
• Process referrals, schedule patients, and complete the intake process
• Review benefits with patients and collect copays
• Generate billing reports and closing reports

Requirements

• HS diploma or GED is required

Preferred Experience

• Customer service experience
• Knowledge of insurance verification
• Healthcare, medical, or dental office administration experience

Pay

Compensation depends upon the candidate's years of experience and internal equity, with a starting salary of $18-$25 per hour.

Schedule

Hours vary, Monday to Thursday, 10am-7pm, for a total of 32 hours per week.
