About the role

As a Patient Service Specialist at Concentra, you will be a vital member of our patient care team, performing complex administrative duties to ensure exceptional care and a welcoming experience for every patient.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors, communicate wait times, and direct them accordingly
  • Obtain authorization, as needed, to process patients for services
  • Check in patients using the appropriate patient management system
  • Explain all required forms to patients and ensure proper completion of paperwork
  • Answer incoming telephone lines and direct callers appropriately
  • Contact patients regarding appointment reminders, rescheduling, or cancellations
  • Check out patients in the patient management system and distribute records
  • File paperwork, medical records, and correspondence
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies and printed forms
  • Manage dissemination of paperwork to outside parties, including non-injury, custody, and control forms
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules
  • Attend center staff meetings and participate in required training
  • Complete processing of patient referrals, including checkout, paperwork, patient education, and communication with Client Support Group
  • Assist the Center Operations Director or other leaders in managing daily administrative functions
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly appearance throughout the facility
  • Use employer reporting tool to scan and distribute employer results and paperwork
  • Review clinician transcriptions and enter applicable charges via internal charge entry system
  • Perform medical assistant duties such as breath alcohol tests, drug screens, TB skin test reads, and other duties as assigned or approved by medical leadership

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6 months to 1 year of job-related experience
  • Working knowledge of state-specific occupational medicine requirements preferred

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data entry into various systems/applications
  • Ability to perform all aspects of front office operations
  • Drive to achieve or exceed established service standards

Pay

This position is eligible to earn a base compensation rate in the state range of $17.19 to $22.34 hourly, depending on job-related factors such as level of experience, geographic location, and seniority.
