Patient Service Specialist

About the Role

Walnut Ridge clinic is looking for a front office team member to join our team. The Patient Service Specialist works as part of the care team performing clerical duties necessary to prepare patients for a visit. We embrace and practice patient-centered care, striving to provide all patients with the best possible medical care and encouraging them to take an active role in their healthcare. In addition to helping patients when they are sick, we guide them in making healthy choices for preventive care.

1st Choice Healthcare is a non-profit, Joint Commission accredited, Federally Qualified Health Center. We welcome all members of our community, especially those unable to afford care, and are founded and governed by our community.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, check patients in and out, and collect fees.
• Ensure accurate patient and insurance information is collected and entered in the EHR.
• Answer telephone, take messages, and make appointments.
• Attendance is an essential job function.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting or customer service role preferred.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records systems.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
• This is a Safety Sensitive position (the use of a Medical Marijuana card is prohibited according to Act 593).
• Facial piercings are not allowed.
