About the role
A non-exempt medical office position responsible for front office processes in the physician practice at DMC Obstetrics & Gynecology - Milford. A $500 sign-on bonus is available for new hires.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to and support the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources.
- Adhere to the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
- Demonstrate support for the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program by being knowledgeable of compliance responsibilities as expressed in the Code of Conduct; adhere to federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures; and report compliance issues/concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Greet patients entering the physician practice.
- Answer office phones, make appointments, confirm appointments, and reschedule when necessary.
- Check in patients and collect accurate patient demographics, enter data into the electronic system, and verify insurance.
- Assist in checking out patients and help them with referral processing and scheduling.
- Collect co-pays and post charges. Process charge entry and patient balances.
- Distribute information to patients regarding office policies, procedures, and information about the practice.
- Explain and enroll patients in the patient portal.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of a medical office assistant program preferred.
- Certification: Healthcare management/administration certification preferred.
- Experience: Two years of customer service experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
