About the role
The Advanced Patient Services Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic practice by managing patient interactions, administrative tasks, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient interactions and administrative tasks efficiently.
- Interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and other staff members with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Use basic computer skills, including data entry and word processing.
- Provide excellent customer service by being empathetic, patient-focused, and handling inquiries and concerns with tact and diplomacy.
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when entering patient information, scheduling appointments, and processing documentation.
- Handle patient concerns, complaints, and issues with professionalism and composure, escalating complex problems to appropriate personnel when necessary.
- Push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, stand and walk during each shift, and perform duties involving gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in both Patient Services Representative and Advance Patient Services Representative competencies, as verified by department leader.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance practices, and billing procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and word processing.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Adaptability and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Problem resolution skills.
