Patient Service Representative- Cortland Urgent Care- Per Diem

About the role

Patient Services Representative is a unique position that varies daily based on the clinical or clerical staffing needs of the practice. Duties often include supporting the physicians and/or mid-level providers in the practice with clinical activities and direct patient care as well as assisting patients and staff with the administrative and clerical needs of the practice.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Check in patients upon arrival
• Verify/update patient demographics
• Collect outstanding balances and co-pays
• Take messages and triage phone calls
• Verifying insurances

Required Skills and Experience

• Good time management and prioritization skills
• High school diploma or equivalent education/life experience

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Previous medical office experience preferred
• College-level training/education in a healthcare support field preferred
• Previous EMR use/training helpful

Physical Requirements

• 90% sitting
• 10% standing

Location and Travel Requirements

Location: Onsite at Cortland Urgent Care: 1129 Commons Ave, Cortland, NY 13045
Shift: Schedule varies depending on unit needs— to be discussed at interview
Travel: 25% local Ithaca travel may be requested to cover other locations if needed

Pay

Standard rate of $18.50 - $23.00 per hour
