Founded in 1921, Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics, and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular, and urology. Rehabilitation Services provides physical and occupational therapy services to both inpatients and outpatients across the full continuum of care. Our trained experts specialize in innovative programs for people with physical and cognitive disabilities and injuries, including brain injury, stroke, spinal cord disorders, orthopedic injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, multiple sclerosis, amputations, arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, and chronic pain.
About the Role
As a Patient Service Representative, you will help ensure that Straub patients and their families receive warm, friendly, and considerate assistance. You will act as a liaison between patients and the professional staff in our Rehabilitation Services and assist with a variety of administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Interview, register, admit, update, and create patients’ medical records.
- Perform accurate and timely processing of all professional/technical fees generated by department providers.
- Perform cash handling and collection.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of clerical support in a health care setting or related experience.
- Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic medical terminology.
- Experience with EPIC.
- International Classification of Diseases 10th edition (ICD-10) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding certification.

Pay
Pay Range: 24.83 - 26.14 USD per hour. Rate of pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience and training, as well as internal peer equity.
