Patient Service Rep, Lead - Gastroenterology

About the role

The Lead Patient Service Representative position is available at Straub Benioff Medical Center, part of the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. This role is based at the Gastroenterology department.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work activities and staffing at the Gastroenterology department
• Train and maintain master schedules
• Process professional/technical fees generated by department providers
• Interview, register, admit, update and create patients' medical records
• Act as a liaison between patients and the professional staff by facilitating clerical and reception responsibilities and assisting in administrative tasks

Requirements

• High school or equivalent
• Two (2) years clerical support experience in a health care setting including medical insurance and collection experience

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in business administration and/or related field preferred
• International Classification of Diseases 10th edition (ICD-10) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) experience preferred
• Medical terminology experience preferred
• MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) experience preferred
