About the Organization
Kapi'olani Medical Specialists (KMS) is a specialty physician group dedicated to caring for Hawai'i's women and children through excellence in academics, physician training, medical research, and clinical care. The group comprises over 100 specialists, nurse practitioners, and other staff, covering newborn to women's health services at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children. KMS operates exclusively for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes, offering highly specialized care options and building support for these services within Hawai'i.
Specialty areas include Neurology, Orthopedics, Genetics, Adolescent Medicine, Otolaryngology, Behavioral Health Services, Hematology/Oncology, Neonatology, Pediatric Intensive Care, Family Medicine, and the full spectrum of Pediatric Specialties. Women's specialists include Breast and General Surgery, Adult Hospitalists, and GYN Oncology. The Infectious Diseases department studies diseases through a comprehensive research process, including basic science research, clinical trials, and bedside care.
About the Role
As a Patient Service Representative, you will ensure that patients and their families receive warm, friendly, and considerate assistance at our hospitals and clinics. You will act as a liaison between patients and professional staff by facilitating clerical and reception responsibilities and assisting in a variety of administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Interview, register, admit, update, and create patients’ medical records.
- Perform accurate and timely processing of all professional/technical fees generated by department providers.
- Perform cash handling and collection.
- Provide clerical and reception support to facilitate communication between patients and professional staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills.
- One (1) year of clerical support experience in a healthcare setting or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic medical terminology.
- EPIC experience.
Skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.
- Sensitivity and helpfulness in patient interactions.

Pay
Pay Range: 24.83 - 26.14 USD per hour. Rate of pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience and training, as well as internal peer equity.
Schedule
- Day shift - 8 hours.
- Full-time regular position (FTE: 1.000000).
