Patient Scheduling Assistant; 0.9 FTE, Day Shift
About the role
The Scheduling Assistant will coordinate the scheduling, referral management, registration, prior authorization, and insurance verification processes for patients entering the UnityPoint Health – Meriter system via the Central Scheduling Department. They will investigate and identify customer needs, reference multiple documents for scheduling guidelines all while providing exceptional customer service in a timely and efficient manner. They will use strong written communication skills to work closely with clinical department staff to schedule and reschedule appointments as needed. This position is a very fast paced call center position that requires the ability to multi-task with attention to detail and the ability to reprioritize needs based on call volumes. This position is primarily remote but will require 3-4 months of in-person learning as well as periodic onsite education.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two years of customer service or healthcare related experience
- Prior receptionist, administrative, or clerical experience preferred
