About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Patient Access, the Central Scheduler is responsible for scheduling outpatient diagnostic testing, assisting with the billing process for reimbursement of provided services, and assisting with the outpatient registration process.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and confirm patient diagnostic testing appointments and provide testing requirements and instructions to patients
- Interview patients to obtain and/or complete testing documents, medical case histories, and forms such as intake and insurance forms
- Operate office equipment such as voice mail messaging systems, copiers, fax, and use of computer systems including database entry, word processing, spreadsheets, and other software applications
- Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate staff
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2 years clerical experience in a medical field preferred
- Minimum of 6 months customer service experience required
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Schedule
- 40 Hours per Week - 1st shift (Days)
- Mostly Monday-Friday but rotating half day Saturday (differentials apply)
- 2 week training includes classroom time in Springfield, MA for colleagues living within 50 miles

Pay
Pay Range: $18-24/hr. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
