Patient Safety Technician, 6A/Medical Stroke
About the Role
The Patient Safety Technician works under the direct supervision of the RN and is an active member of the health care team. Under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, the Patient Safety Technician performs a variety of routine duties to support patient care and safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist with feeding, dressing, or toileting patients
- Observe and report changes in patient status
- Maintain the safety of patients who are confused, at high risk for falls, or require one-to-one observation
- Provide a clean and safe environment for patients
- Assist with department tasks as needed
- Transport patients
- Perform unit secretary tasks and other related duties
Patient Safety Technicians must be empathetic and have strong communication skills to care for patients.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- Customer service experience (preferred)
