Patient Safety Clinical Specialist

About the role

The Quality and Safety Investigator I role is integral to the identification of quality and patient safety opportunities within the Lee Health organization. This role supports the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement department by investigating reported events and quality performance opportunities, considering current evidence-based practice and generally accepted practice standards. The investigator uses patient safety methodology to review, investigate, and classify occurrences and event taxonomy, while also providing insight on identified trends and improvement opportunities related to care delivery. This work aligns with Lee Health’s Fair and Just Culture and strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reported events and quality performance opportunities.
• Review and classify occurrences using patient safety methodology and event taxonomy.
• Analyze trends and identify improvement opportunities in care delivery.

Requirements

• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience providing care in a clinical healthcare setting; critical care experience preferred.
• Registered Nurse License required.
• Certifications such as CPPS, CPHQ, or CRM preferred.

Skills

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking ability.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
• Accepts a flexible schedule.

Schedule

Full-time, Shift 1: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Pay

Minimum to midpoint pay rate: $30.27 - $40.86 per hour
