Patient Safety Advocate

Responsibilities

• Maintains constant visual observation of assigned patient.
• Aids in the provision of a safe and clean environment.
• Communicates observations of the patient’s activity and behavior to the assigned nurse on a regular basis.
• Communicates professionally and demonstrates respect for patient, families/significant others, and other healthcare members.
• Offers support to peers and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
• Ability to communicate in English orally and in writing.
• The Hospital will provide BLS (AHA) certification within 90 days of hire and maintain current.
• Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) training within 90 days of hire and every two years thereafter.
