Patient Registration Specialist
About the Role
Engages with patient, referral source, sales, pharmacy, and nursing to coordinate discharge and secure nursing and delivery. Creates, communicates and obtains all required documentation for new referrals. Secures patient's upfront payment including assisting patients to find avenues for payment where needed (identifies opportunities and directs patient to financial assistance program). Supports the ongoing activities needed to ensure clean claims on hold and denial management (follow-up on paperwork where missing). Assists Patient Registration Supervisor and Manager with special assignments as needed.
Responsibilities
- Engage with patient, referral source, sales, pharmacy, and nursing to coordinate discharge and secure nursing and delivery
- Create, communicate and obtain all required documentation for new referrals
- Secure patient's upfront payment including assisting patients to find avenues for payment where needed (identify opportunities and direct patient to financial assistance program)

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of two years of experience in related experience required
- Ability to multi-task and support numerous referrals/priorities at one time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be detail-oriented and have a high degree of quality focus
- High degree of customer service skills required
- Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve and collaborate with cross-functional team members across sales and operation functions
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous healthcare/medical billing experience preferred
Pay
Pay range is $16.50-$25.53. Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
