Responsibilities
- Maintain the integrity of health records by accurately inputting and retrieving information in the Electronic Medical Record system.
- Schedule appointments, complete pre-registration tasks, verify demographic and insurance information, and ensure accurate billing.
- Identify the need for clinical healthcare staff triage when necessary.
- Collaborate with the patient care team, provide care coordination services, and contribute to Quality Improvement activities.
- Process prior authorizations, referrals, and provide specialist resource information.
- Track and log patient data accurately.
- Attend required meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
- A minimum of one year of customer service experience in a healthcare setting is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy are preferred qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- An associates degree in a related field is preferred.
- A strong knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
- Three years of experience in high-level customer service and relevant healthcare roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- This role involves periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and may include lifting up to ten pounds.
- Evening or weekend work may be required, and there may be job-related stress associated with the position.
