Patient Registrar - Orthopedics and Sports Medicine- Hudson Valley Medical Group

Location: Yorktown Heights, New York (Shift: Day Flex)

Make a lasting impression on patients at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley as a Patient Registrar. In this role, you will navigate through our EMR to register patients for a variety of procedures and appointments, obtain demographic details, insurance information and verification. You will ensure proper scheduling, record patient history, and obtain pre‑certification and authorization. Feel the pride of going above and beyond to help others.

Responsibilities

• Navigate EMR to register patients for procedures and appointments
• Obtain demographic details, insurance information and verification
• Ensure proper scheduling
• Record patient history
• Obtain pre‑certification and authorization
• Travel/provide coverage to Ortho department sites and other Hudson Valley Medical Group locations as needed

Requirements

• 1+ year of clerical experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent GED
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
• Superior customer service skills
• Energetic, approachable individual with a desire to put patients first
• Detail‑oriented, able to problem solve and work independently
• Knowledge of medical procedures, routines, regulations and medical terminology
• Experience working in a busy out‑patient practice
• Orthopedics or Radiology experience
• Knowledge of coding: ICD‑10, CPT‑4, health insurance benefits/requirements
• EMR experience (Epic)
