Patient Registrar- Multispecialty- Brooklyn
About the role
As a Patient Registrar at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Brooklyn, you will assist patients with questions and concerns, keep families informed, and deliver superior customer service to our diverse local community. You will register patients for procedures and appointments, obtain demographic details, insurance information, and ensure proper scheduling. Additionally, you will record patient history, obtain pre-certification and authorization for services, and provide a calm and reassuring presence for patients navigating their hospital experience.
This is a full-time position located at 3417 King's Highway, Brooklyn, NY. Travel may be required to cover other locations within Brooklyn Medical Group.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (must be flexible with hours as this is dependent on operational needs).
Responsibilities
- Register patients for a variety of procedures and appointments.
- Obtain and verify demographic details and insurance information.
- Ensure proper scheduling of patient appointments.
- Record patient history and obtain pre-certification and authorization for services.
- Provide a reassuring presence for patients navigating their hospital experience.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One year of clerical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college coursework.
- Knowledge of health insurance benefits and requirements.
- Knowledge of coding: ICD-9, CPT-4.

Pay
Salary Range: $34.30–$40.55 per hour.
