Accountabilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of patient recruitment, retention, and decentralized clinical trial strategies.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve enrollment outcomes, enhance patient experiences, and ensure consistent adoption of best practices across clinical programs.
- Develop and execute patient recruitment and retention (PRR) strategies and decentralized clinical trial (DCT) approaches across clinical development programs.
- Establish feasibility criteria and identify opportunities to incorporate innovative recruitment and decentralized solutions into clinical trials.
- Collaborate with clinical program teams, study management groups, data teams, regulatory partners, and other stakeholders to integrate PRR and DCT strategies effectively.
- Advocate for patient-centered approaches by educating internal teams and promoting best practices across study portfolios.
- Research, evaluate, and select external vendors, technologies, and solutions that support patient engagement and recruitment objectives.
- Lead feasibility assessments by evaluating protocols, patient populations, site capabilities, regulatory considerations, and technology requirements.
- Support the development of clinical trial protocols by incorporating patient recruitment, retention, and decentralized trial elements.
- Monitor recruitment performance using operational data, analytics, and key performance indicators to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Identify implementation risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect patient safety, data integrity, and study success.
- Develop training materials and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives related to PRR and DCT methodologies.
- Track industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance recruitment and retention capabilities.
Requirements
- Experienced clinical research professional with strong expertise in patient recruitment, trial operations, and stakeholder management.
- Ability to influence teams, manage complex initiatives, and apply data-driven insights to improve clinical trial performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Public Health, Clinical Research, Healthcare, or a related discipline preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in clinical development, clinical operations, patient recruitment and retention, or related functions within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, or healthcare industries.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing patient recruitment and retention strategies for clinical trial enrollment.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial operations, including feasibility assessments, enrollment planning, patient burden reduction, and recruitment risk management.
- Experience supporting patient-facing solutions and decentralized or hybrid clinical trial models.
- Experience identifying, evaluating, and managing external vendors and strategic partners.
- Ability to analyze operational data and performance metrics to guide decision-making.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- Knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines, clinical research regulations, and patient privacy requirements.
- Experience driving process improvements, scaling best practices, and improving operational capabilities across multiple studies.
- Excellent project management, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience supporting global clinical trials and collaborating with geographically distributed teams preferred.
- Familiarity with patient advocacy organizations, digital recruitment methods, and clinical trial technologies preferred.
