About the Role
The Patient Placement Coordinator is a frontline role responsible for managing patient admissions, transfers, and placements within a hospital setting. They serve as the communication link between families, providers, and clinical teams, ensuring smooth patient flow and capacity management.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate direct admissions from various sources (e.g., clinics, physician offices, transfers from other facilities).
- Manage bed capacity and patient flow to optimize hospital resources.
- Collaborate with clinical departments to facilitate timely patient access and placement.
- Act as a liaison between families, providers, and clinical teams to ensure clear communication.
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to handle complex medical cases.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Adhere to hospital values of quality, collaboration, and innovation.
- Serve as a role model for Family Centered Care principles.
Requirements
- Active RN (Registered Nurse) licensure.
- 2–3 years of experience in an Emergency Room (ER) setting.
